Pallet exchange disputes are common in European road freight. Most of them do not start at the point of delivery. They start when booking terms are unclear, handover notes are incomplete, or both parties assume the other will manage the exchange.
Define exchange terms at booking
Pallet exchange expectations should be clear before the truck departs. Type, quantity, quality standards, and the location of exchange should be documented and shared with the driver.
Protect the handover with documentation
Signed receipts, CMR notes, and clear references protect both shipper and carrier when disputes arise later. The effort is small; the protection is significant.
At Roel Trans Serv, pallet exchange is treated as a planning item, not a delivery surprise. The fewer assumptions, the fewer disputes.
